    1,000 Years of Illumination

    A one-day journey through a millennium of European artistic development.
    The British Library holds one of the finest collections of illustrated manuscripts in the world.
    Participants will hear from curators and guest specialists and learn about the cultural and artistic context in which manuscripts were created.
    Speakers include :

    • Dr. Scott McKendrick, head of western heritage collections;
    • Dr. Kathleen Doyle, lead curator of illustrated manuscripts at the British Library;
    • Patricia Lovett MBE, renowned scribe and illuminator.

    The cost, including refreshments, is 24.

    The National Gallery has invited U3A members to another fascinating study day on the 14th November from 11 a.m to 3.45 p.m.
